Caroline Schorr, GRI, SFR, ASP, Broker/Owner. A native “Tar Heel”, UNCC grad and long-time mountain hiker, I was delighted when Barry agreed to make Beech Mountain our “retirement” destination. Ever active – it didn’t take long for me to get involved real estate. I love the industry, the friends it affords me – and the satisfaction I get from serving my clients. It’s a FUN business! Another thing I am passionate about is – EDUCATION. I believe that the more informed I become – the better to serve our Clients. Hence, I am constantly taking classes and earning advanced real estate degrees, such as: GRI, SFR, ASP, and am working on both the ABR and CRS designations.

Following many years of both Barry & I working in other offices, we branched out on our own in September of ’08, opening A CAROLINA MOUNTAIN HOME REALTY….In January,’09, we located in our current office across from Sugar Mountain at 3271 Tyncastle Hwy. Barry D Schorr, Broker/Owner, originates from the Bronx, is a Hunter College grad. Following his service as a corpsman in Viet Nam, he located to Washington and built a 30yr career in systems analysis and management with the IRS. Barry and Caroline retired to Beech Mountain in 2000.

Reluctant to “retire” Barry quickly became involved in the community by assuming the post as Beech’s Exec Director of the Chamber of Commerce for three years. Then, having witnessed the FUN Caroline was having in real estate, he wisely decided to join in, getting his Brokers license in early 2006. He’s office manager, “detail” man, broker and Mr. Hospitality – not to mention, musician and all around FUN guy! {Who’d ever guess he spent 30yrs with the IRS?????)
